Set up a new custom domain

Mixo provides the option to use your own domain or purchase one through Mixo. In this article we will guide you through the process of purchasing a custom domain through Mixo for your existing Mixo site:

1. Login to Your Mixo Account: First, navigate to the Mixo login page (https://app.mixo.io/login) and enter your credentials to access your account.

2. Go to Your Site Dashboard: Once logged in, find the site for which you want to purchase a custom domain. You can do this by visiting your sites list here: https://app.mixo.io/sites.

3. Select Customize Domain: For the specific site you want to set up a custom domain for, click on the ‘Customize Domain’ option. You can find this either from the site dashboard or directly by clicking https://app.mixo.io/sites/[SITEID]?domainSettings=true (replace [SITEID] with your actual site ID).

4. Choose to Get a Domain: You’ll see an option to get a domain from Mixo if you don’t already own one. This option will guide you through getting a domain through our partnership with our domain partner.

5. Select Your Domain: You will be asked to select your preferred domain. Make sure it reflects your business and is easy for your audience to remember.

6. Complete the Domain Purchase: Follow the prompts to complete the purchase of your domain. This will include adding your details, registering your domain and making the payment required. Its important that you provide accurate information during this process as it will be used to verify your ownership of the domain.

7. Return to Mixo to Set Up the Domain: Once your domain purchase is completed, return to Mixo to finalize the setup. You will see a screen showing the status of your domain setup. All this will be done automatically for you and will likely take 30 minutes to complete.

8. Domain Goes Live: After an hour or so, you should receive an email from us letting you know that your domain is live. You can then visit your site using your new domain.

9. Confirmation Email: Look out for any confirmation emails from Mixo about your new domain and ensure you follow any additional verification steps provided in those emails.
